News from October and November
We are happy to announce that, we have new members in our research group!
Dr. Gellért Sipos joined us as a PostDoc. He arrived home from Group of Reto Dorta, The University of Western Australia (UWA).
Milán Petró, Levente Répassy and András Szemes started to work in our laboratories on their BSc. thesis.
Our new publication on C-H activation of aryl urea derivatives has been accepted in Advanced Synthesis and Catalysis (Wiley)! It will be online soon in "Early View" section!
Anna Székely passed her PhD final examination. Congratulations!
The Conference of Scientific Students’ Associations (TDK) in Eötvös University was organized on last Saturday (26.11.2016). Péter Elekes, Gergő Sályi, János T. Csenki and Márton Zwillinger attended on this event, and defended their dissertation. Congratulations to them! Considering the summarized points of thesis and the presentation Gergő Sályi received the Árpád Gerecs Price, János T. Csenki got 2nd place and Zwillinger Márton achieved the 1st place! Congratulations! Follow this link for results chart (hungrarian).
The next challenge will come at the XXXIII. National Conference of Scientific Students’ Associations (OTDK) in Faculty Of Materials Science And Engineering, University Of Miskolc, Miskolc, Hungary at 29-31.03.2017.
Successful September
The autumn semester started, and several projects were completed successfully. 2 new publications were released in this month.
Our formal group member, Klára Lövei and her co-workers presented a short summary in the topic of flow chemistry. This paper was entitled as "Continuous flow synthesis of heterocyclic scaffolds. Design principles of multistep systems – A review" and published in Chimica Oggi – Chemistry Today (Tekno Scienze). For further reading please, Click Here.
Our second new paper is a study about Lewis acid accelerated palladium catalyzed C-H activation, presented by Orsolya Tischler, Szabolcs Kovács, Gábor Érsek, Péter Králl, János Daru, András Stirling, Zoltán Novák in Journal of Molecular Catalysis A: Chemical (Elsevier). Going beyond to our effective people and their admirable results, it is a pleasure to report, two PhD thesis defence occured on last week.
Zsombor Gonda got Summa Cum Laude on Thursday, and Klári Aradi also finished her study with Summa Cum Laude on Friday. Congratulations!
New Review on Photoredox-Transition Metal Dual Catalysis
Our new review was released in Tetrahedron Letters (Elsevier) as a Diggest Letter. This paper focused on a new methodology which started after the beginning of 21st century, and seems to be a diverse, quickly developing branch of organic chemistry. Namely, the idea of photoredox merged transition metal dual catalytic systems. This work collected all of these photoredox-TM catalyzed transformations until 2016 July. The title is "Recent Advances in Dual Transition Metal - Visible Light Photoredox Catalysis" and published by Balázs L. Tóth, Orsolya Tischler, and Zoltán Novák. Personal Account about Mild C-H Activation
Our first Personal Account was published in The Chemical Record (Wiley) this August. In this comprehensive work we attempted to collect the developments and transformations which avoid the utilization of harsh reaction conditions (high temperature, strong acids and bases and numerous further additives) in the field of palladium catalyzed, ortho-directed C-H activation of aniline derivatives from the first attempts to up-to-date results, including the results of our research laboratory. The title of this review is "Mild Palladium Catalyzed ortho C-H Bond Functionalizations of Aniline Derivatives". For further reading please, Click Here.
June: Recent events in ZNG
Our new publication has been released in Journal of Organic Chemistry (ACS). This project was entitled as "Understanding and Exploitation of Neighboring Heteroatom Effect for the Mild N‑Arylation of Heterocycles with Diaryliodonium Salts under Aqueous Conditions: A Theoretical and Experimental Mechanistic Study" and presented by Tamás Bihari, Bence Babinszki, Zsombor Gonda, Szabolcs Kovács, Zoltán Novák and András Stirling. Congratulations to them! For further reading please, Click Here.
